I was never really into cleansers because I always thought they dried out my skin too much. Up until recently when I was scoping out the anti -aging products at the drugstore and stumbled across this cleanser when I read my favorite ingredient on the front of the bottle- you guys should know this. Yup, hyaluronic acid! A facial cleanser strong enough to remove my makeup but gentle enough to not over dry my skin, at the same time acting as an anti-aging agent. Yes, please! It also smells amazing. I loved it so much that I even recommended it to my hubby and he's been using it ever since. Works wonderfully for us and we are on our third bottle (in 2 months). Needless to say, its pretty amazing and worth the $7.74. Click the link above to it. :)
Ahh this is one of those products everyone raves about, rightfully so. In case you are clueless as to what CC is (I promise you're not alone), it stands for Color Correcting. Think of a moisturizer that evens out your skin tone by addressing the redness or discoloration. A moisturizer that also acts as a foundation, only lighter and breathable. I picked this product up at Ulta Beauty on Black Friday for $38 after trying a sample. What really sold me on this product was the consistency. The CC cream felt SO soft and light on my skin, almost bare, hence the logo, "Your Skin but Better." The best way to describe this product that it reminds me of a flawless, magical, silky veil overtop my skin. It's definitely there but not obvious.
As a working mother and wife who is always on the go, I wanted something quick and easy. I moisturize daily, especially before leaving the house but I always wish I had some type of coverage, even minimal, without the need to sit and blend and blend and blend. This cream is perfect. The tube indicates that it is full coverage although I promise it does not feel like it. My issue is not that a foundation is "full coverage," but rather the thick consistency and caky feeling when it is on my face. Sometimes, I use a little bit of Tarte Shape Tape concealer (very little - this concealer goes a LONG way) on the under eyes and on blemishes. Then, using my damp sponge, I blend the concealer into my CC cream. You have to be careful with the concealer though, the consistency will not match the cream if you add too much. You will end up with a lot of cake and defeat the purpose of the "magical veil" that I've described. I also set it with a tiny bit of powder so that it does not oxidize or appear oily.
Prior to learning about this product, I was using drug store foundation (Loreal Tru Match) on the "daily". The problem is that the majority of the time, it's too much work on my early days (I wake up at 4am for bridal parties people) AND it clogs my pores, does more damage than good. I like the skin on my face to "breathe" during the week, especially in the warmer weather. Who wants to be wearing thick foundation while outdoors in 80 degree weather?! NOT I. So what is the difference between this CC cream and drug store foundation? The CC cream, unlike foundation, is actually beneficial to your skin. Aside from the obvious one, sunscreen, the second ingredient listed on the box just following water is snail secretion filtrate, yes SNAIL SLIME! This ingredient dates back to ancient Greece, being known for its hydrating, anti-aging, skin smoothing qualities. It's also known for its minimizing the appearance of pores. In addition to the oh so yummy snail slime, it also has some of the same ingredients in my anti aging kit: hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and Vitamin A, B, C and E. With that being said, doctors and scientists say these ingredients do not take the place of fillers and botox. Sorry folks!
The CC cream comes in the original and the illuminous, I prefer the original because I like more of a matte finish. I purchased it in the color Medium. Looks a little yellow on my wrist but when its blended on my face, it's the perfect color for me.
Hope this was a helpful description for you all. I've made it easier for you to order the product if you're interested purchasing and trying it out for yourself. Just click the photo below. I found a better bargain for you through Amazon. It is free shipping if you have Amazon Prime.
Oh and I almost forgot, HAPPY NEW YEAR! May 2018 be your year to shine! Hopefully, I can help you with that!

This post is my Thanksgiving gift to you, haha. Just kidding but no, not really! This concealer is seriously my holy grail. I have tried so many concealers and none of them brighten, conceal or set as nicely as the Shape Tape. It has a creamy consistency and a little amount of product goes a long way. It also dries very matte which can be tricky for some people, especially those with fine lines. A little tip is to moisturize generously around the eyes before applying Shape Tape. Once Shape Tape is applied, use a moist Beauty Blender to push the product into the skin. There are several colors but I use the shade, Light Medium. Tarte Shape Tape is only sold at Ulta and Tarte.com. Unfortunately, Sephora does not carry it yet, hopefully one day! #Tarte #TarteShapeTape #Makeup #Concealer
You can purchase the Shape Tape concealer by clicking the following link below..
I also included the link for the Beauty Blender below, in case you're missing out on the number makeup tool! It truly is life changing.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Hope you all enjoy your Thanksgiving with your families!
It is quite ridiculous that it took me this long to post about the #DesixKaty highlighter. I purchased Fuego, which is a bright, golden highlight, it reminds me a lot of Becca Cosmetics highlight in Opal. I opened it a few weeks ago when a friend of mine, Judi Gabbay (also known as Glossip Girl on Instagram), was at my studio to try out a few looks on me. We were like two little kids opening up a brand new toy that has been sold out in stores! There is no other way to explain our excitement, haha! Honey, let me tell you, Judi had no problem digging right in. She bathed me in the shiny, shimmery goddess dust as you can see in the photo below. By the way, did she slay my look or what??
Ever since, I've been having a difficult time using anything but Fuego. Great job Desi and Katy! It is long lasting and looked great when photographed. I am also more drawn to this highlight because of its gold pigment. It doesn't just look like shimmer on my cheeks but an actual glow. Fuego has become my new obsession. I also started dusting it all over my body and have been getting endless compliments! I mustn't forget to mention the magnificent, shiny packaging. Freaking glam galore! The chic packaging draws the consumer to the product. It reminds me of when I would go to Toys 'R' Us and find the little toy sets of makeup- sparkly and super girly!

I would love to see what more DesixKaty have for store for us in the near future! So glad I was able to get my hands on this!
If you’re looking for quick and easy makeup applications, this is definitely your product! The Benefit Gimme Brow gel is best for an easy, out the door, hassle-free makeup application. My favorite brow product is Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. It has always worked for me however it is more time consuming and tedious to apply because you’re actually building the shape and trying to get both brows to match as much as possible. You are literally drawing your brows with a pencil when using the ABH (Anastasia Beverly Hills) Wiz. I don’t know about you but it is difficult for me to sit down and draw on my brows when I am pressed for time, especially during the week. The Benefit Gimme Brow differs because it is has a mini brush (think of a mascara wand but one-third its size) with fibers that stick to your hairs and skin using brush strokes. You simply brush through your brows using the tiny applicator and it does the work for you. Your brows will be complete in half the time it would take actually drawing them in using a pencil. It helps you achieve the fuller, voluminous but meanwhile, also very natural brows that don't look over the top. I would recommend using this product on a daily basis but will be sticking to my Anastasia Brow Wiz for my weekend outings.
You can use this as your go to if the only issue you have with your brows is sparseness. The Gimme Brow is also a huge way to cheat your makeup applications because you don’t necessarily need to know how to fill in your brows, it does the job for you! I tested this out on someone who has a rather large gap in their brows from over tweezing and unfortunately, it did not fill in the gap. She will need to fill in the gap with some kind of brow pencil in addition to the Fiber Gel on the rest of the brow. If this sounds like your brows, I would consider doing the same. You can find the Benefit Gimme Brow at Ulta or Sephora for $24. It comes in the following colors, 01 Light - platinum to light blonde (cool); 03 Medium - golden blonde to medium brown (warm); and 05 Deep - dark brown to black (cool). They also have the mini version (for your purse) but I see it only comes in the color 03 Medium. 03 Medium matched my skin tone perfectly. Another great quality about this brow gel is that it is waterproof so it will last through your busy day! If you're interested in purchasing this product, I included the link below!
I hope that I provided enough information for you about this product. Please let me know if you have any questions!
Welcome to my beauty blog, everyone! I am so excited to begin this new venture and be able to share my beauty tips and product reviews with you all. My passion has always been beauty and fashion but unfortunately, I was not able to pursue it until my late twenties. That was well after I graduated from college, landed a promotion at my job, married the love of my life and welcomed the two most precious little boys into this world! My parents always stressed the importance of education ever since I could remember. Beauty school was prohibited, totally out of the question even when they learned that my high school offered a free program (with transportation) during junior/senior year. I distinctively remember crying at dinner and pleading with my father to allow me to enroll in the beauty program, he said no without any hesitation. My parents viewed beauty to be a huge distraction from college, they were probably right. It was not until a couple years ago that I decided to pursue this overdue dream of mine. This time, both of my parents were supportive as was my husband. I feel very blessed for the opportunities that have come my way since I made this decision. Before you jump to any conclusions and assume "oh this is just another beauty blog," I want to clarify to you all that this is not your average blog but so much more. This blog is going to be written by a middle class, hard-working, 30 year-old mother from Michigan who actually enjoys beauty, lives for convenience (moms know how hard it can be to balance all of these things), gladly shares "beauty secrets" (I am the girl who will tell you where I got my dress from-I will even order it for you haha), and most importantly one of my finest qualities, being brutally honest (even when I shouldn't be- insert shocked expression emoji here).
To me, motherhood is not a part time job, never was and never will be. Anyone who knows me well enough knows that I am probably one of the most involved, controlling, beyond-obsessed mothers. With that being said, sometimes I know I have to take a few steps back. A huge part of being a good mother is learning how to balance. This is something I struggled with because I felt so much guilt for taking care of me but that was wrong. How can you take care of little people without taking care of yourself? You can't! You must take care of you! This is one of my biggest battles that I have overcome. Being a mother and being able to balance it has changed my life. I would love nothing more than to help you all by sharing what I have learned and how to balance it. Allow me to introduce ways that I have learned to make your life simpler and convenient in this busy, crazy world.
Social media has changed the way we think, act and overall, the way that we live our lives. Think about it, most of us will not buy a product without reading reviews. This is not necessarily a bad thing but it is if we solely base our purchases on what others think or say, particularly celebrities and those with higher social statuses, i.e. those with the most followers. I am hoping you're not all naive to believe that these individuals are not paid to push certain products. I own a lash company and since, I have learned so much more with regard to this business. I've reached out to several individuals with large followings to see if I could share some of my products with them in exchange for a post. I received one makeup guru's rates for posting products. I was shocked to learn that she charges $3,000 for one exclusive Instagram post and $10,000 for a Youtube video! That was over a year ago and since then, I am certain her rates have increased. My point is that most of the makeup gurus and celebrities who share their "favorites" are paid to share them with us. Unlike these individuals, I will not be receiving compensation for standing by products or services. My goal is to review and share with you all my HONEST feelings about everything I review. I am giving you all my word that I will only share what I feel is best and try to be as helpful as possible.
I cannot promise that that everything I say will be completely fitting to each and every one of you but I can assure you that I will be honest and do my best to provide you with the most detailed reviews on everything that I try. You have my loyalty. I was never the type that thought twice about helping people, especially mothers because I know how hard it can be especially in this day in age where so much is expected of us. I promise you all that you're not alone! It never occurred to me that I would thoroughly enjoy being so open with people until I started receiving comments and private messages from people on social media, some saying that I was an inspiration to them. Others showing gratitude for sharing certain products with them. Receiving these types of messages brought me so much joy! Thank you for showing me your appreciation, I look forward to so many more successful, informative posts.
